Interview with Committe member of Pol Brennan Suport Group and AOH member Michael Cleveland
Mike covered a number of important points sending notes and cards to Pol with a cash donation for phone cards,Signing of the on line petition, and
Writing/contacting U. S. Senators and Congressmen on Pol's behalf asking them to intercede with the Dept. of Homeland Security to stop
their opposition to releasing Pol on bail. The AOH was discussed and their role in supporting Pol's case and that the resolutions passed in California in
April were passed by the State Boards of BOTH the AOH and LAOH (Ladies AOH).
Mike background as a retired Customs official who enforced Customs AND Immigration law and was, based on his experience, aghast that the Dept.
of Homeland Security would take such a firm stand on no bail. At the same time I mentioned that the judge denied bail for Pol calling him "a flight risk
and a danger to society." I responded that he has been here for 24 years and has never posed a danger to society, but was a gentle man who volunteered
his time as a docent at the local planetarium and was well-liked by all who knew him. Also noted was the two times in the 90's where he was released on
bail and voluntarily surrendered himself at the due date, time and place; THAT was his time should be have wanted to take flight.
Calling him a flight risk at this point in time is inane.
